Turvey House was built 1565
by Sir Christopher Barnewall, Kt.
He died 1575.
Barnewall of Turvey
were prominent Catholics and Royalists
in the 17th cent.

Turvey was seat of
Viscounts Barnewall of Kingsland.
A late 17th cent. house was built around the original tower house.
The whole was
demolished in 1987.
