  2. Joan Boyle, mar George Fitzgerald, 16th Earl of Kildare and had issue.

    the father of chemistry (and indeed of experimental science),

    devised "Boyle's Law",
    pioneer of the idea that diseases may have natural causes (since the New Testament and before, theology held that disease was caused by sin, or by demons or witches).
