    then settled down and mar 1735 to Elizabeth Strangways Horner,
    assumed additional surname when mar,
    cr Earl of Ilchester 1756,
    Ilchester is NW of Yeovil, Somerset,
    died 29th Sept 1776, age 72 yrs,
    had issue:


    1. Susan Fox Strangways, eloped in 1764 with the actor William O'Brien and was disowned.

    2. Henry Thomas Fox Strangways, 2nd Earl of Ilchester,
      Lord Stavordale,
      romantic mar 1772 to Mary Grady of Cappercullen.

    3. Muriel Fox Strangways,
      mar 1777 to Valentine Quin, 1st Earl of Dunraven [born 1752] and had issue.


  2. Henry Fox, 1st Baron Holland, born 1705,
    mar Caroline Lennox [born 1723, descendant of Charles II],
    they lived Holland House, Kensington,
    had issue:


    1. Charles James Fox,
      the Whig politician, born 1749,
      leader of the opposition (to the Prime Minister Pitt),
      associated with the Prince Regent, but shared some of the republican sympathies of his rebel 1st cousin Lord Edward Fitzgerald,
      he was the leading opponent of the powers of monarchy of his time, and highly influential, despite the limited success he had in actually being in power,
      supported American independence, approved in general of French revolution, yet in England still opposed propertyless vote,
      it was Fox who in 1782 enabled Grattan's Home Rule parliament in Ireland,
      in 1806 he passed a resolution promising a speedy end to the slave trade,
      died 1806, age 57 yrs, bur Westminster Abbey.
