Viewfield, Aberdeen

Viewfield was a large estate in Craigiebuckler, on the SW side of Aberdeen.
On the modern map this would be on the W side of Springfield Rd, opposite the entrance to Viewfield Rd. See map.

Viewfield was the home of William Gibbon of Viewfield. He died there 1823.
His widow left immediately after his death. She had left by 1824-25.

The area is now suburban housing estates. It would have been countryside in Gibbon's time.
The site is now the Hilton Aberdeen Treetops hotel (part of the Hilton hotels group).
Nothing remains of the old Viewfield house.
