Theophilus Leigh, of Adlestrop and Longborough,
mar Hon. Mary Brydges [born est c.1670, descendant of Edward III, died 1703]
and had issue:


  1. William Leigh, born 1691, had issue:

    1. Cassandra Leigh, mar Sir Edward Turner, 2nd Baronet, and had issue:
      1. Elizabeth Turner, mar Thomas Twisleton, 7th Baron Saye and Sele and had issue.

    2. James Leigh, bapt 1724, mar Lady Caroline Brydges [descendant of Henry VII] and had issue:

      1. James Henry Leigh, of Adlestrop and Longborough, born 1765,
        his 2nd cousin Jane Austen visited him at Adlestrop 1806,
        during the visit, he inherited Stoneleigh, Warwickshire, from his (and her) Leigh cousins, all went to see Stoneleigh together,
        Stoneleigh was model for Sotherton in Mansfield Park, Sotherton is meant to be a much grander place than Mansfield Park,
        Sotherton doesn't really feature in the movie version of Mansfield Park (1999),
        died 1823, having had issue:

        1. Chandos Leigh, 1st Baron Leigh, born 1791,
          ancestor of Barons Leigh of Stoneleigh, Warwickshire.


  2. Rev. Thomas Leigh, had issue:

    1. Cassandra Leigh, born 1739,
      mar Rev. George Austen and had issue:

      1. Jane Austen, the novelist, born 1775,
        author of Pride and Prejudice (see here),
        author of Sense and Sensibility.
