O'Donoghue

Some records have "O'Donohue" or "O'Donohoe", but family used "O'Donoghue".


Patrick O'Donoghue,
born 1860, Co.Longford.
He mar pre-1890 to Jane Duffy [born 1861, Co.Cavan].
At son's birth 1897 he is listed as farmer, of "Croft House", Portlongfield, Killashandra par, Co.Cavan (see modern map).
They are listed in 1901 census on George's St, Templemore, Co.Tipperary. He is "General Merchant".
They had issue:


  1. Domhnall O'Donoghue,
    Daniel O'Connell O'Donoghue (would be after Daniel O'Connell),
    often written by others as "Donal" but he always used "Domhnall", or in Irish, "Domhnall O Donnchadha",
    born at Croft House, Portlongfield, 2 May 1897,
    see birth cert in [P106/1664], though baptism says born 12 May,
    bapt 13 May 1897 [St.Brigid's RC church, Killashandra], see [P106/1665].
