Kilvemnon graveyard

The old Kilvemnon graveyard, just right turn off the Clonmel road, couple of miles S of Mullinahone.
Both Protestants and Catholics are buried here.

• Charles Kickham, born [poss. 1694],
  shows they used the form "Kickham" very early,
  mar Judith McDaniel [or poss. McDowd] [born 1698],
  he died 16th July 1767, age [poss. 73 yrs] [grave, Kilvemnon],
  Judith died 1st May 1784, age 86 yrs [grave, Kilvemnon],
  had issue:
  1. Richard Kickham, born [poss. 1743],
     apparently mar Hanah Bailly ["daughter in law", born poss. 1745],
     died 10th May 1794 (think NOT 19th, think NOT 1791), age [poss. 51 yrs] [grave, Kilvemnon],
     Hanah died (poss. 11th) Dec 1810, age [poss. 65 yrs] [grave, Kilvemnon].

  
  

• Thomas Kickham, born 1735,
  died 10th -- 1800, age 65 yrs [grave, Kilvemnon],
  [Larkin, 2005] thinks 8 Feb 1800, age 63 yrs,
  had issue:
  1. Edmond Kickham,
     erected his father's gravestone.

  Mary Kickham, died Mar 1819, listed on same gravestone.
  [Larkin, 2005] thinks 15 May 1819.

  
  

• Laurence Kickham, born 1793,
  mar Anastatia Landy, of Mullinahone,
  he died 27th June 1836, age 43 yrs [grave, Kilvemnon],
  she fl 1836, erected her husband's gravestone.

Kickham of Kilvemnon

This Kickham family - whose earlier members are buried in Kilvemnon graveyard - have a family tradition of being related to the Fenian's family:

  had issue:
  1. Laurence Kickham, born 1770, Catholic,
     mar Johanna Cleary [Catholic, born 1776 or 1782, Johanna on grave, family history also has her as Judith, Catherine's bapt has her as Joan],
     described as "farmer" at his wife's death [GROI],
     think he is NOT Laurence Kickham of Mullinahone, shopkeeper, involved in a deed of 1817,
     he died 19th Mar 1841, age 71 yrs [grave, Kilvemnon],
     Johanna died Kilvemnon, 8th June 1866, age 90 yrs [GROI] or 84 yrs [grave, Kilvemnon], NOT 1886,
     had issue:
     1. Edward Kickham, of Kilvemnon, born 1808.

     2. Catherine Kickham,
        bapt 1 Sept 1813 [Mullinahone RC par records], sp Honor Costelloe.

  
  

• Margaret Kickham, of Kilvemnon,
  must be Catholic (see mar),
  mar 1814 [think Mullinahone RC par records], (todo) see full entry,
  to John Dunne [of Kilmaganny, Kilmaganny par, just across border in Co.Kilkenny],
  Dunne family originally came from Grangemockler, Grangemockler par (just S of Mullinahone), Co.Tipperary,
  he is possibly "John Dunne" who sp baptism of William Kickham 1816.

• Edmund Kickham,
  farmer, of Coolquill, Crohane par (NW of Mullinahone), Co.Tipperary,
  he is called at various places Edmund, Edmond and Edward in the deed of 1821,
  there is a deed, between him and his son Thomas, dated 1 Feb 1821, registered 28 Nov 1821, [LR] book 767, p.241, no.520376,
  concerning lands of Garrysallagh and Tarsna, both in Crohane par, Co.Tipperary,
  had issue:
  1. Thomas Kickham, eldest son, of Coolquill, Co.Tipperary.

  mar Ellen O'Neill,
  had issue:
  1. Martin Kickham,
     bapt 28 Oct 1812 [Mullinahone RC par records], sp John Dillon and Ellen Shee.

  mar Katherine Egan,
  died 1850,
  had issue, ancestor of:
  1. Michael Tobin,

  of Leigh (must be Leigh, Twomileborris par, N Co.Tipperary),
  mar (think Ellenor) ----,
  died 4 June 1837,
  estate £180, admin granted Cashel & Emly Diocese, (illegible date) 1839, to his widow,
  [NAI] Irish Administration Registers (IAR) 1839 F/72, microfilm (old hardcopy reference is "Volume Name 4/237/36").

  mar Anne Armston [or Armeston, dau of Thomas Armston, of Armston, nr Polebrook, Northamptonshire (see map)],
  had issue:
  1. Agnes Kirkham, or Anne,
     mar Guy Lynne [born c.1490] and had issue.

  
  

• Thomas Kirkham,
  of Cotterstock, Northamptonshire,
  had issue:
  1. Mary Kirkham, born 1594,
     mar George Lynne [born 1594] and had issue.
