This was the Town Hall of Limerick from 1847 to 1990.
3 O'Maras were Mayors here: Stephen O'Mara,
and his sons Phons O'Mara and Stephen O'Mara.

It was restored 1992.
Occupied for a time by the Mid West Business Institute (now Griffith College Limerick).
Called the Old Town Hall Centre.
Now vacant, boarded up, awaiting re-development as part of the proposed Opera Centre (modern shopping centre, proposes to keep the facade of the town hall on the Rutland St side).
