            died 1658.

          mar Sir Francis Barrington, 1st Baronet [descendant of Edward III] and had issue.


        3. Frances Cromwell,
          mar Richard Whalley and had issue,
          ancestors of:

          1. Richard Chapell Whaley (or Chappell),
            Protestant magistrate, violently anti-Catholic, known as "Burn-Chapel" Whaley,
            it was said that in pursuit of Catholic priests during the Penal Times he burned at least one Catholic place of worship,
