      of Hinchingbrooke, W side of Huntingdon (see map),
      had issue:

      1. Sir Henry Cromwell, of Hinchingbrooke, had issue:


        1. Robert Cromwell, of Huntingdon,
          mar Elizabeth Steward and had issue:

          1. Oliver Cromwell (and here),
            republican revolutionary, Lord Protector of England,
            born Huntingdon, 25 April 1599.


        2. Joan Cromwell,
          mar Sir Francis Barrington, 1st Baronet [descendant of Edward III] and had issue.


        3. Frances Cromwell,
          mar Richard Whalley and had issue,
          ancestors of:

          1. Richard Chapell Whaley (or Chappell),
            Protestant magistrate, violently anti-Catholic, known as "Burn-Chapel" Whaley,
            it was said that in pursuit of Catholic priests during the Penal Times he burned at least one Catholic place of worship,
            built town house at 86 St Stephen's Green, Dublin (now UCD),
            had issue:

            1. Thomas "Buck" Whaley, born 1766, notorious rake.
