Lady Sarah Lennox,
born 1745,
the young George III
[born 1738]
fell in love with her, Nov 1759 (her age 14, him age 21),
but he was persuaded to marry politically Sept 1761,
she would have been Queen,
the romance of the story is somewhat spoiled by the fact that,
although she was flattered, she did not really love him,
she was rushed into an unhappy marriage 1762, she left her husband 1769,
she wrote the story of the romance of her sister's nephew
Lord Stavordale
with Mary Grady of Cappercullen 1772,
see [Ilchester, 1901],
she was particular friends with his disgraced sister Susan,
in his madness in later life, George III talked of Sarah
and of Lady Pembroke,
interestingly, at one point temp 1760, Sarah Lennox had been suggested for
Lady Pembroke's brother,
George Spencer, 4th Duke of Marlborough,
the Foxes were also friends of Lady Pembroke's sister Diana
and Topham Beauclerk,
died 1826, age 81 yrs.
