born 21st June 1731,
mar 1stly to Mary Michell and had issue:
  1. Sir Timothy Shelley, 2nd Baronet,
    born 1753, had issue:

    1. Percy Bysshe Shelley, the poet, born 1792,
      expelled from Oxford for writing The Necessity Of Atheism, 1811 [age 19],
      mar 1stly to Harriet Westbrook [they eloped to Scotland] and had issue,
      Harriet committed suicide after he left her for Mary in 1814,
      mar 2ndly, 1816, to Mary Godwin [born 1797],
      Mary was dau of William Godwin by his wife Mary Wollstonecraft [author of A Vindication of the Rights of Woman, 1792],
      Mary was author of Frankenstein, 1818 [age 21],
      he drowned 1822, age 30 yrs.
      Mary died 1851, bur St.Peter's churchyard, Bournemouth, where her parents, and some remains of Shelley, are also buried.
Mary died 1760,
mar 2ndly, 1769, to Elizabeth Perry [heiress of Penshurst, descendant of Henry VII],
Elizabeth died 17th May 1781 [grave, Penshurst chapel],
he was cr 1806,
died 6th Jan 1815, age 83 yrs,
had issue:
  1. Sir John Shelley-Sidney, 1st Baronet, born 12th Dec 1771,
    inherited Penshurst through his mother,
    took the name "Sidney" at majority, by Royal Licence 6th Mar 1793,
    mar 29th Apr 1799 to Henrietta Hunloke [Henrietta Frances],
    Henrietta died 5th Feb 1811 [grave, Penshurst chapel],
    cr 12th Dec 1818,
    died 14th Mar 1849, age 77 yrs [grave, Penshurst chapel], having had issue:

    1. Philip Sidney, 1st Baron de l'Isle and Dudley, born 1800.
