Sir William Sarsfield, Kt,
of Lucan Castle, Co.Dublin, born 1520,
knighted 1566 by Sir Henry Sidney "for having rescued Lady Sidney from the Irish" (Drogheda, where Sir Henry had left his wife in his absence, was being threatened by the Ulster tribes, Sarsfield came and relieved the town),
worked with Sir Thomas Fitzwilliam, Kt on fixing the boundaries of Co.Wicklow,
mar Margaret Tyrrell [dau of Andrew Tyrrell, of Athboy]
and died 1616, age 96 yrs, bur Lucan, having had issue:
