Hugh de Lacy, 1st Lord of Meath,
or Hugh de Laci.
He mar Rose of Monmouth.
He was one of the Norman conquerors of Ireland 1169.
He was granted Co.Meath 1172 by Henry II.
He was the first Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland 1172-1173.
He built Trim Castle, Co.Meath, 1173.
He built Killeen Castle, Co.Meath, 1181.
He was murdered 1186.
1st Lord and Rose had issue:


Walter de Lacy, 2nd Lord of Meath.
He mar Margaret de Braose.
He enlarged Trim Castle, Co.Meath 1196.
He had lands in Donnybrook, Co.Dublin. See [Ball, vol.2, 1903].
He died 1240.
2nd Lord and Margaret had issue:


  1. Gilbert de Lacy,
    mar Isabel de Bigod [descendant of Charlemagne],
    had issue:


    1. Margery de Lacy,
      mar John de Verdon and had issue:

      1. Theobald de Verdon, 1st Baron Verdun,
        had lands in Donnybrook, Co.Dublin, see [Ball, vol.2, 1903],
        think he is "Theobald de Verdun" who inherited Dunamase Castle, Co.Laois, 1282,
        had issue:

        1. Theobald de Verdon, 2nd Baron Verdun,
          mar 1315 to Elizabeth de Clare [grand-dau of Edward I],
          had issue:

          1. Isabel de Verdon,
            mar Henry Ferrers, 2nd Baron Ferrers of Groby and had issue.


    2. Maud de Lacy,
      mar Geoffrey de Geneville,
      they inherited Trim Castle, Co.Meath,
      had issue:

      1. Piers de Geneville,
        had issue:

        1. Joan de Geneville,
          heiress of Trim Castle,
          mar 1301 to Roger de Mortimer, 1st Earl of March and had issue.


  2. Egidia de Lacy,
    mar Richard Mor de Burgh, 1st Baron of Connacht and had issue.
