William Forbes Gibbon

William Forbes Gibbon,
born 15 Dec 1800.
He went to India.
Child born in India in 1841. He is listed as "merchant".
Though later [Deed, 1864] describes him as late of Thurloe Square, South Kensington, London.
His will dated 17 June 1852, codicil 6 Aug 1852.
He died at sea, Aug 1853, age 52 yrs, "drowned on his passage from Melbourne" (would be Melbourne, Australia).
Grave inscription at Nigg Bay, though presumably not buried there.
He had issue:

  1. Emily Vincent Gibbon.

  2. Georgina Gibbon,
    born 19 Aug 1841, Garden Reach, Calcutta, NE India [LDS IGI],
    bapt 12 Sept 1841, St. John's Cathedral, Calcutta. See bapt entry.

  3. Thomas Mitchell Gibbon.
    He is party to [Deed, 1864].
    He is described as "Indigo Planter" of Peeprah Factory, Tirhoot district, India.

  4. William Forbes Gibbon.
    Not to be confused with his 1st cousin William Forbes Gibbon.
    He drew up [Deed, 1864].
    He is described as of Shanghai, China. Clerk in the firm of Coults and Co., merchants.
    Deed signed at Hankow, China, 25 Apr 1864.

  5. John Pirie Gibbon,
    would be after uncle,
    died post-1852, but before the age of 21.
