Segment of Ryan Tubridy's descent from Edward III.
He descends from the Constable gentry family of Yorkshire.
This means he descends from the
House of York.
- Anne Plantagenet is sister of Edward IV and Richard III (of the House of York).
-
Jane Conyers has 7 more (!) descents from Edward III.
Marked in green on Ryan Tubridy's descent:
People who descend from Aoife Mac Murrough and Strongbow (Richard de Clare).
The Marriage of Princess Aoife of Leinster with the Norman Richard de Clare (Strongbow)
by
Daniel Maclise (1854).
Invasion of Ireland: 1169.
Aoife marries Strongbow 1171.
In the 1200s, their descendants marry English nobility.
In the 1300s, their descendants marry English royalty.
All English royalty from 1399 on descends from them.
One descent (through Mortimer) of English royalty from Aoife and Strongbow.
There are more descents.
Descent of Dermot MacMurrough (and Aoife) from Brian Boru.
-
Brian Boru's grand-dau married Diarmait mac Mael, King of Leinster.
-
Their great-grandson was Dermot MacMurrough, King of Leinster, father of Aoife.
-
So Brian Boru is proven, step-by-step ancestor of Dermot MacMurrough, Aoife MacMurrough,
and all descendants of Aoife and Strongbow - which includes almost all English royalty and nobility
since the 1300s.
English and British monarchs since Henry II (invader of Ireland in 1169).
Every monarch from Henry IV on (1399)

and
Brian Boru.
Henry VIII, descendant of Brian Boru.
Elizabeth I, descendant of Brian Boru.
Queen Victoria, descendant of Brian Boru.
Elizabeth II, descendant of Brian Boru.
Ryan Tubridy, descendant of Brian Boru.
(Through the House of York.)
It's not just Royalty or Ryan Tubridy.
For 20 years I have collected Royal Descents of Famous People
- descents from English monarchs.
Over 300 famous people on this list:

History of science entirely different.
Is there a theory of amazing descents?
There is.
Trying to estimate
Most Recent Common Ancestor (MRCA)
of all living humans.
First, consider studies in genetics.
Based on inheriting DNA.
Easiest to track are:
-
Female-female ... line only. ("Mitochondrial Eve")
(Just 1 of your billions of lines)
- Male-male ... line only. ("Y-chromosomal Adam")
(Just 1 of your billions of lines)
MRCA for both is in pre-history - maybe 100,000 to 200,000 years ago.
Nature paper in 2004.
Most Recent Common Ancestor (MRCA)
of all humans in
any line.
- Different to genetics.
Do you actually descend (through any line) from someone,
whether you inherit any of their DNA or not.
- If don't inherit DNA, how can you tell you descend from them?
- Ancestors grow exponentially.
We have much more ancestors than we could inherit DNA from.
Could not inherit DNA from all of them.
- Computer simulation needed to estimate it.
Genetics can't do it. (No evidence survives.)
- Descent through any of your billions of lines (not just male-male or female-female).
Will give much more recent MRCA.
Charlemagne, Holy Roman Emperor
(born 742 AD).
Computer simulations say:
- Most Recent Common Ancestor (MRCA) of the West
is likely within historical times, even AD.
- Charlemagne
is probably ancestor through some line of everyone in the West.
(Except recent immigrants.)
- This fits with genealogy findings.
Millions of diverse people in the West can prove descent from Charlemagne step by step.
The numbers actually descended from Charlemagne
must be much greater.
Computer simulations say:
Brian Boru
is probably ancestor of everyone in Ireland today.
(Except recent immigrants.)
-
And not just Brian Boru, but the majority of people in Ireland around 1000 AD
- those whose lines of descendants did not
quickly die out.
-
We know Brian Boru is among that group since we can actually prove (step by step) descent to today.
We all descend from Brian Boru.
But can you prove it? (Step by step)
Ryan Tubridy can.
My wife can.
(She has the House of York descent too.)
In 2020 I finally proved it for myself.
