Mary Kerr books
In 2024, I purchased a 2 volume set of
The Letters of the celebrated Junius, London, 1783.
They are signed "Mary Kerr 1789".
The question is which Mary Kerr.
This is solved by the coat of arms on the books, which shows Kerr and Tompson.
This must be
Mary Tompson,
2nd wife of
Dr. William Kerr
(they married in 1773, he died 1824, she died 1841).
