Sir Christopher de Berneval, of Crickstown,
mar Eleanor Rochford [dau of Sir Nicholas Rochford, Kt, of Rathcoffie, Co.Kildare, and Kilbride, Co.Meath]
and had issue:

1. Sir Christopher Barnewall, ancestor of Barnewall, Barons Trimlestown, and of Barnewall of Crickstown, of whom:
   1. --- Barnewall, of Crickstown,
      mar Sir William Welles and had issue.

2. John de Berneval, had issue:
   1. Sir Richard Barnewall, of Fieldstown.

• Barnewall, Barons Trimlestown built Roebuck Castle, S Co.Dublin, original building late 1500s. Ruined, totally rebuilt 18th cent, remodelled 19th cent. See [Irish Country Houses]. Now part of UCD.
