Baynard's Castle, London

The massive Baynard's Castle in central London, on the river front.
One of the most extraordinary lost buildings of London.

Sir William Sidney lived here. Living here as at 1529.
His son Sir Henry Sidney was born here in 1529.

In 1551 Baynard's Castle was granted to the 1st Earl of Pembroke.
Thomas Herbert, 8th Earl of Pembroke was probably born at Baynard's Castle in 1656.
Baynard's Castle was ruined in the Great Fire of London in 1666.
