Sir John Throckmorton, of Coughton


Sir John Throckmorton,
born c.1382, Throckmorton, Worcestershire.

He mar (poss. 1409) to Eleanor de Spineto.
She was dau and heiress of Sir Guy de Spineto, lord of Coughton, Warwickshire.
Sir Guy de Spineto is a descendant (also here) of Louis IV, King of France and of Charlemagne and of Edward the Elder.

Throckmorton acquired Coughton, Warwickshire in 1409.
Sir John died 12 April 1445, age c.63 yrs.
Sir John and Eleanor had issue:


  1. Thomas Throckmorton,
    born c.1412, Throckmorton, Worcestershire.
    See wikitree.
    He mar Margaret Olney [dau of Sir Robert Olney, of Weston].
    Lived at Coughton.
    High Sheriff of Leicestershire and Warwickshire in 1466. (They were joint roles at this time. Later separated.)
    He died 1472, age c.60 yrs.
    A photo of the tomb of Thomas Throckmorton MP (died 1607) has been incorrectly added to this Thomas' wikitree entry.
    Thomas and Margaret had issue:


    1. Sir Robert Throckmorton,
      of Coughton,
      born est c.1455.


  2. Maud Throckmorton,
    or Matilda.
    She mar Sir Thomas Greene and had issue.
