John is listed with family in 1851 census. He is "Learning mason trade".
At marriage he is already a widower. Living 10 Salisbury Place. He is a mason, son of Charles Day, mason.
He mar 2 Jan 1859 to Sarah Dyson Amey [dau of Henry Amey, labourer].
They mar at Stepney parish church, London. See mar cert from here.

He went to Dover, Kent (would be for work).
He died 1860, age 24 yrs.
He was bur 11 Nov 1860, Dover.
Sarah mar 2ndly, 5 July 1861, to Frederick Burgess.
They mar in Dover. See transcript. She is listed as Sarah Dyson Day, widow, dau of Henry Amey. So this is definitely her.
John Day and Sarah had issue:


  1. Emma Caroline Day, born 1860.
    She mar 25 Nov 1882 to James Samuel Watts.
    They mar at Stepney parish church. See mar cert from here. Both listed as living 3 Bale St, Stepney, at mar.
    Marriage witnessed by her aunt Caroline Hallandal (born 1847).
    They had issue:


    1. Emily Alice May Watts, born 1889.
      She mar William Henry Western.
      They had issue:

      1. Doreen Elizabeth Western, born 1924.
        She mar Thomas Stockham.
        They had issue:

        1. Carola Stockham.
          DNA match to Janet Noltie and Elizabeth Gibbon and James Humphrys.


    2. Sarah Elizabeth Watts, born 1895.
      She mar William George Hudson Kendall.
      They had issue:

      1. Arthur Edward Kendall, born 1925.
        He had issue:

        1. Alan Kendell.

Wrong family

  

George Aldis thought John Day was the John Day who married an Eliza and had these children.
See them listed in 1871 census in Mile End Old Town, London. He is a "stoker".
But we have shown that this is wrong. Our John Day died in 1860.
