At marriage in 1868, William is a "domestic coachman", living Kingsford, SW of Alford, Aberdeenshire.
He and Jessie married at 204 Union St, Aberdeen, the town house of David Raitt Lyall Grant, the owner of Kingsford House, Alford.
Grant is clearly his employer. He works for Grant at his country house Kingsford. Grant witnessed the marriage.

William mar 27 Nov 1868 to Jessie McConachie [or McConnachie, born 1835, Dufftown, Banffshire, dau of John McConachie and Marjory Nicol].
At mar Jessie is a "domestic servant", also living Kingsford, Alford. (Maybe also working for Grant.)

At son's birth 1869 they are living Hillhead, Kingsford, Alford. William is a "domestic coachman".
He named his son David Lyall Grant Murray after his employer.

He is listed as "crofter" at death 1878.
He died (think 15) Apr 1878, (think Toll Croft), Alford, age 50 yrs. See death cert.
Jessie is listed in 1881 census at Toll House, Alford. She is widow, "dressmaker". Her father-in-law is living with them.

    Lived Glasgow.
    Emigrated to Canada.
    He mar Margaret Smith.
    Lived 1169 St. Mark St, Montreal.
    He died Montreal, Thur 1 Aug 1946, age 76 yrs.
    Death notice in The Montreal Daily Star, Sat 3 Aug 1946.
    Funeral Sat 3 Aug 1946. He was buried at the National Field of Honour (for war veterans), Pointe-Claire, Montreal.
    Margaret fl 1946.
