The 1722 Manuscript

This is a lengthy Irish-language manuscript written out in 1722 by the Kerry poet Aodhagán Ó Rathaille.
It is a Ms copy of the 17th century book "Foras Feasa ar Éirinn" ("Foundation of Knowledge on Ireland", or "History of Ireland") by Geoffrey Keating.
It survives in the [NLI] where it is filed as "A Copy of Keating's Forus Feasa or Éirinn", Ms. G. 226.
It notably contains two signatures of Aodhagán Ó Rathaille dated July and Sept 1722.
