Rory O'Rahilly,
born Michael Joseph O'Rahilly, after his father's death, 25 July 1916.
He got polio as a child in 1926 when put in boarding school in Co.Wicklow convent. He suffered from a disability all his life as a result. He had to wear a brace and calliper all his life.
This made a working life very difficult. His 1983 pension application said he had "no occupation" as a result. It says he did work for one of his brothers and later for one of his wife's brothers.
He wit his brother Niall's mar 1940.

He mar 3 Oct 1950 to Marie Terese Sherin [dau of Cornelius Sherin of Kilkenny].
They lived 11 Palmerstown Drive, Palmerstown, Co.Dublin (see map). He is listed as "commercial traveller", living there in 1953.
Still at 11 Palmerstown Drive in [Thom's, 1958].
They later lived "Massabielle", 9 Embassy Lawn, Clonskeagh, Dublin 14.
Had summer house near Ballylongford.
Rory applied for pension in 1983 (for invalided children of veterans) and was granted an allowance from 1983 until his death. It seems that he could have had an allowance from 1959. Though his application says his mother applied and got nothing.
Marie died pre-1987.
Rory moved into Ashford Nursing Home, 20 Grosvenor Road, Rathgar.
He died morning of 11th May 1989, age 72 yrs.
Rory and Marie had issue:

1. Máire-Rós Ní Raghallaigh.
   DNA match to me and Niall Humphreys.
   She mar Ricky Erickson and had issue:
   1. William Erickson.
   2. Max Erickson.
