Sir Payne Roet,
or "Paon de Roet", "Paganus" in Latin,
of Guienne region, SW France.
He was bur in the old St.Paul's Cathedral, London.
He had issue:

1. Philippa Roet, born 1348.
   She mar Geoffrey Chaucer [the poet, born 1340].
   She died 1387, age 39 yrs.
   Chaucer died 1400, age 60 yrs.
   He was bur Westminster Abbey, London. His burial founded Poets' Corner.

2. Catherine Roet,
   or Katherine, born 1350.
   She mar 1stly, pre-1367, to Sir Hugh de Swynford and had issue.
   Sir Hugh died 1372.
   She mar 2ndly, 1396, to her long-time lover John of Gaunt and had issue.
   They had a long affair and had issue since 1373 (her a widow, him an adulterer).
   They had to wait to marry until his wife died.

The cathedral and the tomb were totally destroyed in the Great Fire of London 1666.
