Charles had to flee Britain.
He was in exile in 1651-1660 on the Continent (in France, the Dutch Republic and the Spanish Netherlands).
Restoration 1660.
He reigned 1660-1685. (Royalists dated his reign as starting in 1649.)
He mar Catherine of Braganza.
He had an affair with Nell Gwyn and had issue:


  1. Charles Beauclerk, 1st Duke of St.Albans, born 1670.
