Mahony

Baptisms of Patrick Mahony and his siblings say they are of Leansaghane, Kilconly par (N of Ballybunion, beside Bromore).

Birth cert of Patrick Mahony seems to say he is of Lahesheragh, Lisselton par (E of Ballybunion).
We know the birth date here is wrong. We think the place is wrong too.

James Mahony.
See entry in Ross tree by Oliver Mac Cathmhaoil.
He is listed in records as "labourer" or "farmer" or "farm labourer".
He mar Catherine Stack (or Kate).
Lived at Leansaghane, Kilconly par, Co.Kerry. (N of Ballybunion.)
They had children baptised in Ballybunion RC church from 1869 to 1877.
Various spellings of their address at children's baptisms but they all seem to refer to Leansaghane.
They had issue:

  1. Patrick Mahony,
    born 11 October 1869, Leansaghane, Co.Kerry,
bapt 15 October 1869 [Ballybunion RC church]. See baptism entry from here.
Birth cert says born 21 Oct 1869 but that is wrong. See birth cert from here. We think the place of birth on the cert is wrong too.
He lived Bromore, Kilconly par, Co.Kerry (just S of Leansaghane, N of Ballybunion).
At marriage 1900 he is farmer, living Bromore.
This transcript of marriage says "Banmore" but that is clearly an error.

He mar 9 June 1900 to Mary Stack [bapt 6 March 1864].
Census shows that Mary and Patrick can read and write, but Patrick's parents are illiterate.
At son's bapt 30 Mar 1901 Mary and Patrick are living Bromore.
They are listed in census, 31 Mar 1901, at Bromore West. He is "farmer". His parents living with them.
They are listed in 1911 census at Bromore West. He is "farmer". His parents living with them.

    Mary dies, 1942:
She died Bromore, 18 Sept 1942 [death cert] or 19 Sept [grave], age 78 yrs.
See death cert from here. She is "farmer's wife".
She was bur in Killehenny Cemetery, Ballybunion, Co.Kerry. Grave says "Mary Mahony" of Bromore.
Her entry in cemetery entries gives date 21 Sept 1942, but this may be date of burial not death. She is written as "Mary O'Mahony" of Bromore.

    Patrick dies, 1950:
He died Bromore, 18 Apr 1950, age 80 yrs.
See death cert from here. He is "farmer".
He was bur in Killehenny Cemetery.
    Patrick and Mary had issue:

bapt 30 March 1901 [Ballybunion RC par records].
Described as of Bromore at death in 1987.
Maybe unmarried. No widow or children mentioned in death notice.

He was a farmer, living Gullane, Kilconly par, at mar.
They mar at Ballybunion RC church (a week after her brother). See mar cert from here.
