The de Bermingham family built Baldungan Castle (or Baldongan), SW of Skerries (in the direction of Lusk), N Co.Dublin, in the 13th century.

An effigy of James Bermingham, dated 1527 (or 1637), survives in the square tower at Lusk, Co.Dublin.
