Andrew Kerr,
of Cessford and Auldtounburn, on Scottish border with England.
In 1451 he was granted the barony of Old Roxburgh.
As at 1457 he held post of Warden of the Marches.
He died post-1481.
Ancestor of Duke of Roxburghe.
He had issue:


Thomas Kerr,
of Smailholm, 1st of Ferniehirst.
He mar Margaret Ker [dau of Sir Thomas Ker of Ferniehirst, near Jedburgh, Roxburghshire, on Scottish border with England.
He inherited Ferniehirst by marriage.
Ancestor of Kerr of Ferniehirst.
He died pre-1484.
Thomas and Margaret had issue:


Sir Andrew Kerr,
of Ferniehirst.

Kerr of Ferniehirst were said to be ancestors of the Kerr, Baronets, of Greenhead, Roxburghshire (created 1637).
Carr of Etal, Northumberland, were said to be related to these Kerr Baronets.
They possibly descend from a younger brother of Sir Andrew Kerr, 1st Baronet (died 1665).

This says that Kerr of Ferniehirst were ancestors of the Kerr Baronets of Greenhead.
