Sir Roger Clifford,
of Clifford Castle, Herefordshire,
mar Isabel de Vipont [descendant of Charlemagne],
had issue:

Robert Clifford, 1st Baron Clifford.
He mar Maud de Clare [descendant of Charlemagne].
In 1291-1308 he inherited Appleby Castle, now in Cumbria.
He was granted Skipton Castle, North Yorkshire, 1310.
He died 1314.
They had issue:

1. Idoine de Clifford,
   mar Henry Percy, 2nd Baron Percy and had issue.
