he is said to have burnt many of the family papers dating back centuries,
died 1866,
had issue:


  1. Desmond John Fitzgerald, Knight of Glin,
    born 1840,
    had issue:


    1. Nesta Fitzgerald,
      Clara Nesta Fitzgerald,
      mar 1882 to Major Arthur Blennerhassett and had issue.


    2. Desmond Fitzgerald, Knight of Glin, born 1862,
      inherited Riddlestown Park, Co.Limerick, 1904,
      he sold Riddlestown, but kept Blennerhassett portraits,
      had issue:

      1. Desmond Fitzgerald, Knight of Glin, born 1901,
        mar Veronica Villiers [descendant of 7th Duke of Marlborough and hence of Henry VII],
        had issue:

        1. Desmond Fitzgerald, 29th Knight of Glin (see here), born 1937, art expert,
          died 2011. Title extinct.
