Fitzgerald (The Geraldines) 
 It took some time for "Fitzgerald" to become the standard surname. 
I retrospectively name most of them   Fitzgerald from the start
(except for the line that became 
Fitzmaurice).

-  Maurice Fitzthomas Fitzgerald, born c.1197.
 KERRY in
 [Complete Peerage] says 
that the father of Thomas, 1st Baron Kerry, 
was Maurice, brother of John, 1st Baron  Desmond,  and son of Thomas FitzMaurice.
 He built
  Killorglin Castle  1215.
 He died pre-1253.
 He 
 had issue:
