The stables, Mount Merrion House (today)

Modern pictures of the stables at Mount Merrion House, Mount Merrion, Co.Dublin.
The stables were built along with the main block in 1711.

In the modern age, the RHS stable block was damaged or destroyed in a fire in the 1970s and was demolished.
The rest of the stables (the main block and the LHS block) survived.
They were used as offices. Access from The Rise.

Around 2018 they were re-built as housing.
The front side was restored beautifully. But the old rear was wiped out and modernised.

The back of the stables

The gardens of Mount Merrion House were behind the stables to the W and S.
The W area behind the stables is still a green area today.

Unfortunately, the rear of the stables has been modernised in a brutal manner.
(At least the front was restored nicely.)
