Malone
Robert Malone's father is Patrick Malone, grocer,
probably the one of Rathgar:
-
Patrick Malone,
grocer.
Robert Malone's father on his 2nd marriage cert is listed as Patrick Malone, grocer.
Robert lived in Rathgar.
The father must be
Patrick Malone, provision dealer, who is listed
at Rathgar, Co.Dublin, in
[Thom's]
1847 to 1855.

Patrick had issue:
-
Robert Malone.
Possibly
"Robert Joseph Malone" (or that might be confusion with his son).
He was said to be born 10 June 1832 in Dublin, but this would make him a lot younger than wife (bapt 1825, they mar 1852).
More likely he is the Robert Malone who was bapt 12 August 1827
[Rathmines RC par records],
son of Patrick Malone and Margaret Aughey.

Could Robert's father be Patrick Malone of Ranelagh?
Robert Malone's father on his
2nd marriage cert
is listed as Patrick Malone, grocer.
There is a Patrick Malone, provision dealer, of Ranelagh, born 1800, died 1872.
However, he seems to be a different person to
Patrick Malone, provision dealer, of Rathgar, who appears to have died in 1855-1858.
Of the two Patrick Malones,
Robert Malone is later of Rathgar, so Patrick of Rathgar is most likely his father.
