Uplowman, Devon

Uplowman, NE of Tiverton, Devon (see map).
Rev. Richard Germon was Vicar of Uplowman, 1912-1922.
He and his wife Elizabeth Gibbon lived in the magnificent 18th century Rectory. Some distance NE of the church. See satellite view.

After WW2 it ceased to be the Rectory. The church sold it in 1948.
It was re-named Uplowman House.
The Queen's cousin, Margaret Elphinstone, lived there from 1952 to 1973 with her husband Denys Rhodes.
