Viewfield, Aberdeen

Viewfield was a large house in Craigiebuckler, on the SW side of Aberdeen.
Also listed as "Viewfield House, Rubislaw".
The house is gone. The site is now on the W side of Springfield Rd, opposite the entrance to Viewfield Rd.

Viewfield was the home of William Gibbon of Viewfield. He died there 1823.
His widow left immediately after his death. She had left by 1824-25.

The area is now suburban housing estates. It would have been countryside in Gibbon's time.
The site is now a hotel called DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Aberdeen Treetops (part of the DoubleTree by Hilton chain, which is part of the Hilton Worldwide company).
Nothing remains of the old Viewfield house.
