Genealogy research by Mark Humphrys.
Viewfield was the home of
William Gibbon of Viewfield.
He died there 1823.
His widow left immediately after his death.
She had left by 1824-25.
The area is now suburban housing estates.
It would have been countryside in Gibbon's time.
The site is now a hotel called
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Aberdeen Treetops
(part of the
DoubleTree by Hilton chain,
which is part of the
Hilton Worldwide
company).
Nothing remains of the
old Viewfield house.
