My ancestors - O'Rahilly - Contents

"Slieve Luachra", Lansdowne, Philadelphia

A mansion on grounds, on Shadeland Ave (see map), Lansdowne, Delaware County, W side of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

This house was home of The O'Rahilly 1905-1909.
He named it "Slieve Luachra" after the ancient O'Rahilly homeland. This is the spelling on the letterhead.
Niall O'Rahilly was born here in Jan 1907.
[P102/95] shows the house for sale in Jan 1909. It has 8 bedrooms, grounds of 7 acres.

Cannot identify the site on old maps. It may have been re-named after O'Rahilly left.
Manchán Magan made contact with a local Philadelphia estate agent who said the house was demolished.
