James Gibbon,

Matilda Ferguson [born 1826].
She was the widow of
John Boule by whom she had previous issue.
They mar at
Meerut,

Uttar Pradesh state,
NC India.
James is jailed, 1858:
He was convicted in 1858 of trying to steal insurance money due to his brother
William's widow
after the latter's death in 1853.
James was jailed for 15 months in
Calcutta.
Their child was bur at Meerut in 1861.
He died 3 Nov 1875, age 58 yrs,
at
Champaran,
Bihar state,
N India
(on
Nepal
border).
He would be buried in India, but name is on grave at
Nigg Bay.
James and Matilda had issue:
- William Gibbon.
- Jane Gibbon.
- Margaret Gibbon,
born Dec 1849.
She died at Garden Reach,
Calcutta, 1 May 1850, age 5 months 19 days.
She is buried with her uncle George
in Calcutta.
- Matilda Ferguson Gibbon,
probably born Dec 1856 (see the following).
She died as an infant at Garden Reach,
Calcutta, age 1 year 3 months 24 days.
She is buried with her uncle George
in Calcutta.
One reading of her grave
says she died 9 March 1838. This cannot be right.
It is probably 1858.
- Bessie Forbes Gibbon,
born 22 Oct 1860.
She died 25 Mar 1861, age 5 months 3 days.
She was buried at Meerut
[Meerut burial register].
