They are listed in 1851 census at 4 Tarling St. He is listed as "staymaker", as is his wife.
They are listed (and p.2) in 1861 census at 19 Lucas St, Tower Hamlets. He is "staymaker". From here.
This is Lucas St (now Lukin St), off Commercial Road (just E of Tarling St).
Listed as "presser" at son George's mar Feb 1870.

They are listed in 1871 census at 36 Lucas St East, Tower Hamlets. He is listed as "staymaker", as is she.
He is listed as "stay maker" at dau's mar 1872.
He is listed at 35 Lucas St, St George in the East, at death [burial record].

Edwin died 1878, age 71 yrs.

  2. Emma Louisa Hallandal,
    bapt 18 Aug 1837, church of St George in the East, London,
    not listed in 1851 census or later, must have died young, there is another Emma and another Louisa.

    listed as "waistcoat maker" in 1861 census, living with parents,
    not listed with parents in 1871 census.

  4. Robert Hallandal,
    born 1841, St George in the East, London,
    listed as "sailmaker" in 1861 census, living with parents,
    not listed with parents in 1871 census,
    must be "Robert Hallandal" who wit mar of Emma 1872.


  5. George Hallandal,
    George Sterling Hallandal, born 16 Feb 1846, 4 Tarling St, Tower Hamlets, London [GRO.UK],
    written as "George Stirling Hallandal" at dau's birth 1876.


  6. Louisa Hallandal,

    listed with family in 1861 census,
    living with parents in 1871 census, listed as "book folder" (part of book binding), single, age 22,
    must be "Louisa Hallandal" who wit mar of Emma 1872,
    she and other unmarried sister Sarah are listed in [UK census, 1881] as staying, apparently as lodgers, with a family at 4 [NOT 3] Paterson St, St Thomas, Mile End Old Town, she is listed as "book folder", single.

    listed as age 6 months in [UK census, 30 March 1851],
    at home in 1861 census,
    living with parents in 1871 census, listed as "vest(?) maker",
    at mar she is living 35 Lucas St, Tower Hamlets,
    mar 14 Sept 1872, Stepney parish church, London [GRO.UK]
    to William Rowland [born 1851, son of John Thomas Rowland, bricklayer],
    he was an optician, living 1 Collingwood St, Tower Hamlets, London (see map) at mar.
