of Hemington, Northamptonshire.
He was educ at Oxford.
He mar 1stly, in or before Sept 1485, to Agnes Dudley [dau of William Dudley, of Clopton, Northamptonshire, by his wife Christiana Darrell].

He bought the manor at Hemington c.1489.
Co-executor of will of Edward Stafford, 2nd Earl of Wiltshire 1499.
He mar 2ndly, in or before 1512, to Mary Lane.
Will dated 1 Jan 1515 (new style year).
He died 5 Sept 1516.
[Complete Peerage] says his brass says 5 Sept 1517. But they think it should be 1516.
There are brasses of them in Church of St Peter & St Paul, Hemington.
He had issue by 1st wife:


  1. Sir Edward Montagu,
    or Montague,
    of Hemington, Northamptonshire.
    He was born c.1487 (age 29 and more at father's death).
    Lord Chief Justice of England.
    Ancestor of Montagu of Boughton House, Northamptonshire.
    Ancestor of Earls and Dukes of Manchester.
