Montagu of Boughton, Northamptonshire

[Complete Peerage, 2nd edn, vol.9, Appendix D] shows that this family is not related to Montagu, Earl of Salisbury.

Richard Ladde.
He assumed the name of Montagu in about 1447.
He had issue:

Thomas Montagu,
of Hemington, Northamptonshire.
He mar Agnes Dudley [dau of William Dudley and Christiana Darrell].
He died 1517.
They had issue:

1. Sir Edward Montagu,
   or Montague,
   of Hemington, Northamptonshire.
   Lord Chief Justice of England.
   He died 1557.
   Ancestor of Montagu of Boughton House, Northamptonshire.
   Ancestor of Earls and Dukes of Manchester.
