Sir Robert Throckmorton,
of Coughton, Warwickshire,
born est c.1455, Coughton.

He mar 1stly, before 1479, to Catherine Marrow [dau of Sir William Marrow, Lord Mayor of London].
He must be "Robert Throgmorton" who (with Richard Broughton) was High Sheriff of Leicestershire and Warwickshire in 1484 (They were joint roles at this time. Later separated.)
"Robert Throgmorton" was High Sheriff of Leicestershire and Warwickshire in 1487 and 1491.
He had issue by 1st wife:


  1. Sir George Throckmorton,
    of Coughton,
    born before 1489, in Worcestershire.


  2. Richard Throckmorton.
    Ancestor of Throckmorton of Virginia, USA.


Sir Robert mar 2ndly, post-1502, to Elizabeth Baynham [dau of Thomas Baynham].
He was on privy council of Henry VII (reigned 1485-1509).
He re-built Coughton church.
His will dated 1 May 1518. Codicil dated 10 August 1518.

He made a pilgrimage to the Holy Land at advanced age.
He died on pilgrimage to Palestine, 1519, age est c.64 yrs.
Will proved 9 November 1520.
Memorial in Coughton church, but he is not buried there.
He had issue by 2nd wife:


  1. Ursula Throckmorton.
    She mar Sir Thomas Giffard and had issue.
