• Rev. James Armstrong,
  born 1710.
  He died 23 [poss. Sept] 1759, age 49 yrs [grave].
  He was bur Kilvemnon graveyard. Grave is just behind the belfry ruin.
  [Larkin, 2005] thinks it says 1769.

  
  

• Rev. Robert Armstrong,
  born 1762,
  of Tipperary town, Protestant.
  Rector of Shronell, Shronell par, Co.Tipperary (W of Tipperary town, see map).
  He mar pre-1793 to Ellinor Wiltshore(?) [thus written in [Deed, 1793], written as Eleanor on grave].
  He is listed as of Newland, Co.Tipperary (unidentified) in [Deed, 1793].
  [Deed, 1793] is a deed between him and his wife and William Harden Bradshaw, of Carrick-on-Suir, Co.Tipperary. This is a lease to Bradshaw of lands at Modeshil, Modeshil par, Co.Tipperary (just N of Mullinahone).
  Rev. Robert Armstrong of Newland, Co.Tipperary, witnessed [Deed, 1796], which was a lease of land and houses in Mullinahone to Charles Kickham.
  Later, before 1812, Charles Kickham's son Edward Kickham married Margaret Armstrong. It may be that Margaret is Protestant and is a relation of Rev. Robert Armstrong.
  Rev. Robert is listed as of Newland, Co.Tipperary, in [Deed, 1802].
  He died 9 Oct 1819, age 57 yrs [grave].
  He was bur Kilvemnon graveyard. Location of graves of this branch: Right at back, centre.
  Ellinor died 27 Sept 18-- [grave, Kilvemnon]. The reading in [Larkin, 2005] is died 1864, age 78 yrs, but that would make her too young. One of these (year or age, but most likely year) must be an error.

     of Ballyvoneen, Modeshil par, Co.Tipperary,
     died 1st Feb 1847, age 49 yrs [grave, Kilvemnon],
     had issue:
     1. Ellen Armstrong, erected her father's gravestone.

     There is a James Armstrong occupying 61 acres (with a house) at Ballyvoneen, Modeshil par, listed in [Griffiths Valuation, 1850], leasing from Robert Butler Bryan.

     There is a "Mrs. Armstrong" (prob. widow as at 1858) who contributed to committee set up at Kilvemnon 1858 to erect a wall around the graveyard (people who had burial plots in the cemetery were asked to subscribe) [Kilvemnon Vestry papers].

  He mar Mary ---- [born 1759].
  She died 18 Apr 1825, age 66 yrs.
  He died 26 July 1828, age 65 yrs.
  They are bur Kilvemnon graveyard. Beside the Rev. Robert Armstrong family graves.

• Richard Armstrong, born 1787,
  at death listed as widower, "retired army officer", (todo) see British Army records,
  died 16 Nov 1884, "Gortnagow" (unidentified), Thurles union, N Co.Tipperary, age 97 [GROI],
  death registered by Eliza Hogan, of Beakstown, Holycross par, Thurles union, N Co.Tipperary.

  entered the Catholic faith, Aug 1825, sponsors Thomas Magrath and Margaret Reynolds [Callan, Co.Kilkenny, Catholic church records].

• William Armstrong, born 1814.
  Listed on death cert as from Kilmaganny, Kilmaganny par, Co.Kilkenny (near Co.Tipperary border).
  Listed at death as married, "Constabulary pensioner".

  He died 10 Oct 1884, in Callan workhouse, Callan, Co.Kilkenny (near Co.Tipperary border), age 70 yrs [GROI].
