Miles Forest, of Morborne

or Myles, born before 1485.

He mar Katherine Bevile [dau of --- Bevile by his wife Annie Kirkham, sister of George Kirkham of Warmington, Northamptonshire].
Groom of the Chamber of Cardinal Thomas Wolsey in 1524.

He settled before 1528 at Morborne, Huntingdonshire.
In 1528 case, "Miles Forrest", of "Marborn", Huntingdonshire, was one of multiple defendants in a case for debt in Common Pleas. The plaintiffs were Sir Thomas More, Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, and also the attorney general of the Duchy of Lancaster.

In 1531 he was a messenger between Henry VIII and James V, King of Scotland.
Remained in the Royal service for rest of his life.
In 1535 he was Bailiff of the Abbot of Peterborough at Warmington, Northamptonshire (not far from Morborne, across the county border).
In Jan 1540 grant, he was granted the manor and lordship of Morborne.
From 1540 he was patron of the Rectors of Morborne. A list of the Rectors and Patrons says he was a Knight.
His will dated 7 Aug 1558.
He died Aug 1558.
He was bur at Morborne, 20 Aug 1558.
Will proved 3 November 1558.
He had issue:


  1. Robert Forest,
    born 1528 (age 30 at father's death).

1528 case

In 1528 Miles Forrest, of Marborn, Huntingdonshire, was one of multiple defendants in a case for debt in Common Pleas.
The plaintiffs were Sir Thomas More, Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, and the attorney general of the Duchy of Lancaster.

1540 grant of Morborne

As we see, he was already at Morborne in 1528.

On 7 Aug 1558, "Myles Foreste" of Morborne, Hunts., makes his will.
He asks to be buried in Morborne.
He leaves the manor of Morborne to his son Robert.
