John Farquhar,
born 1721.

Stocking merchant in Aberdeen.
He mar [contract 1760] to Rachel Young [born 1742].
He died 7 Jan 1768, age 47 yrs.
He was bur St.Nicholas', Aberdeen. See findagrave.
She re-married.
They had issue:


  1. James Farquhar, MP,
    born 1764.
    See James Farquhar, MP in The History of Parliament.
    He mar 1795 to Helen Innes. No issue.
    Soon after 1800 he acquired two properties: MP for Aberdeen Burghs 1802-06 and 1807-18.
    He built a house, Johnston Lodge, at Johnston.
    Lived in London and at Johnston Lodge.
    He died London, 1833.
    Helen lived at Johnston Lodge. Later at Aberdeen.
    She died 1851.
    Their nephew Alexander Gibbon inherited Johnston Lodge.


  2. Rachel Susan Farquhar,
    born at Aberdeen, 7 Aug 1768, after father's death.
    Rachel Susanna at baptism.
    She mar 1792 to Charles Gibbon and had issue.
