James Young,
born 1697.
He was a merchant in Aberdeen.
He mar 1stly, 1732, to Helen Christie.
She died 1733.
He mar 2ndly, 1735, to Rachel Cruickshank [born 1706].
James and his son William set up a firm that manufactured stockings in Aberdeen.
Rachel died 1784, age 78 yrs.
James went to live with his dau Isobel at Footdee, Aberdeen harbour.
He died at his dau's house, Footdee, 1790, age 93 yrs.
For their descendants start at p.1 of [Johnston, 1894].
James and Rachel had issue:


  1. Rachel Young,
    born 2 June 1742.
    She mar 1stly [contract 1760] to John Farquhar and had issue.
    He died 1768.
    She mar 2ndly, 1773, to David Morice and had issue.


  2. Isobel Young,
    or Isabella or Isabel,
    born or bapt 7 Sept 1747, Aberdeen.

    See p.117 of [Johnston, 1894].
    She mar 1773 to Capt. William Gibbon. No issue.
