Bacon
Nicholas Bacon,
of
Shrubland Hall, Suffolk.
Descendant of
Edward Bacon
of Shrubland Hall.
He had issue:
-
Basil Bacon, born 1725.
of Shrubland Hall, Suffolk.
He had a relationship with
Mary Margaret de Veil
[born 1722, dau of
Sir Thomas de Veil]
and had natural issue.
She had multiple children by Basil but his will
shows she did not marry him. It is unclear why not.
It seems he never married.
She married 1stly to
Francis Wright who died 1744.
She married or had a relationship with a Thomas Williams
and took the name
Mary Margaret Williams.
Her children took the surname Williams,
but Basil's will is clear that they are his children, not children of Thomas Williams.
The will of Basil Bacon confirms that John Williams is son of
Basil by Mary Margaret.
In 1770 Basil inherited Moor Park, Farnham, Surrey.
See his will dated 23 June 1775.
He was bur 26 Jan 1776 at Farnham.
See burial record
from here.
His will proved 3 February 1776.
Basil and Mary Margaret had natural issue:
-
John Williams,
natural child, born 5 July 1753.
Origin of John Williams.
Extract from pp.222-223 of
[Gibson, 2018].
