James Hourigan,
He mar 1stly, 30 Jan 1849, Limerick city,
to Mary Anne O'Neill [from Limerick city].
He left Annagh and was a butcher in Limerick city. Living Limerick city at least 1851-1856.
Children bapt 1851-1854 in Limerick city.
John Hourigan
says:
"The Annagh House was closed for 3 years, and James the Butcher lived in Limerick."
"James Houragan" is listed as a butcher on Charlotte Quay, Limerick, in
[Slater's Directory, 1856, p.306].
Mary Anne died 1854-1857.
James had among other issue by 1st wife:
James wanted to return from Limerick to Annagh.
John Hourigan
says:
"He approached the Landlord Barrington
and asked him for the place back and
Barrington told him to fix that with the Humphries family which he did and reared all his family
there."
He mar 2ndly, 16 Feb 1857, Murroe, to
Catherine Ryan Gardiner [born 1829 or 1838].
They lived in the "Boreen" house at Annagh.
James and Catherine are listed
in 1901 census
at Annagh. He and his son Patt are farmers.

Catherine died 6 June 1903, Annagh.

He died at Annagh, 28 Jan 1908, age 85 yrs.
