John Noltie,
born 23 Jan 1830, East Gallowhill, Alford, Aberdeenshire.

Census of 1851 has him at home at Gallowhill, age 21.
Emigrates to Canada, 1854.
He is living Delaware, Middlesex county, Ontario, Canada, at mar 1858.

They are listed (and headings) in 1861 census at Orford, Kent county, Ontario. He is farmer.
He then got a farm a bit to the W, in Chatham township, Kent County, Ontario.
They are listed in 1871 census at Chatham. He is farmer.
They are listed in 1881 census at Chatham. He is farmer.
They are listed in 1891 census at Chatham. He is farmer. Their son William and his wife are living next door.
At death he is "retired farmer", living Llydican Ave, Chatham town. His sons William and John kept the farm going.
He died 14 Sept 1907, Chatham, age 77 yrs. See death cert. He is Presbyterian.
He was buried in the small Noltie cemetery on the Noltie farm, Chatham township. See findagrave.
Martha died 3 Mar 1915, Chatham. Or maybe 2 Mar 1915. Age on or just before her 77th birthday.
They had issue:

   born 14 Mar 1859, Ontario.
   She mar Thomas Mannings.

   
   

2. Henry Noltie,
   born 1861, Chatham.
   He died 10 Dec 1888, Chatham, age 27 yrs.
   He was buried in the Noltie cemetery on the Noltie farm, Chatham township. See findagrave.

   born 14 Nov 1862, Dresden, Ontario, Canada.
   Dresden is a bit N of the Noltie farm and some way N of Chatham town. See map.
   1900 census says born Nov 1862. Death cert looks like it says Nov. Think NOT March.

   James Harris Noltie, born 16 Nov 1863, Ontario.
   He died 23 Dec 1883, Chatham, Ontario, age 20 yrs.

   He reported father's death 1907.
   He died 20 Sept 1945, Detroit.
