A sign on the front of the building says "EST. 1769".
Though this may be dubious.
Eden Quay was not constructed until 1796.
And the building had different owners and uses over the years.
The E part of Eden Quay
(where 28 Eden Quay is)
does not yet exist on

The W part of Eden Quay exists

Either this part (the E part) of the quay did not yet exist,

so it is hard to track the building.

Once built, the street numbering seems never to have changed.
Starting with no.1 at the Sackville Street end, and increasing towards the Custom House end.
