Around 400 letters. Some other documents. 1867 to 1913.

Mostly:

A large number are letters from Stephen to Ellen. But there are many other correspondents.

Letters from Stephen O'Mara to his wife

As a separate group, a large number of letters survive from Stephen O'Mara (born 1844, died 1926) to his wife Ellen Pigott (bapt 1845, married 1867, died 1910). In the letters, she is "Nell" and he is "Stout".
  

1860s

  1. 7 Aug 1867. He is in Limerick. Wife is in Kilkee with his parents. He says his sister Bridget is ill.
  2. 8 Aug 1867. Says Bridget is better.

1870-74

  1. 5 Sept 1871. (No year written, but can date it to Isaac Butt's election.)

    As at mid-Sept 1872 they had 3 children.
